Zumzeig is a non-profit cooperative and participatory cinema. Based in Barcelona, they compose a multidisciplinary programme with original films and events. In the pandemic’s wake of cinematic absence, we sought out a campaign concept and strategy that would inspire new—though familiar—acts of moviegoing.

As part of the campaign, the genre of fanfilms invited us to reimagine four symbolic movie scenes as part of the campaign, produced with the help of Barcelona’s mayor Ada Colau and a local community of friends and collaborators. Audiences were invited to create their own ‘fanfilms’, sharing them on social media to take part in a membership raffle.

The project’s adjacent design direction was developed around Zumzeig’s existing logo, within a colourful design system that employed film-specific typography made adaptable according to the organisation’s digital needs.
