At their invitation, we have developed a visual campaign for an event that investigates matters of memory and public space. The two-part lecture series unpacked questions on the encounters between contemporary art, public monuments and colonial violences, within the context of urban space.
Utilising a popular method for crowd simulation—as used across entertainment media, crisis training, architecture and urban planning—to re-vision the emblematic events at Arts Santa Mònica in December 2021, the virtual rendering of collective bodies instigates an inventory of imagery, deployed to convey the complexity of memory.
